Topped out at 120 ears!

September 3, 2008

Probably wondering what 120 ears means?  Well, as an in-town want-to-be farmer, I just picked my 120th ear of corn in my family garden.  I know you think this is silly, but this is a great opportunity to share the wonders of mother nature with my children. I always found it amazing and want to share with my children how one little seed can grow into a stalk of corn.  Several rows of corn become food for a dinner table, a fun place to hide, and future corn shock for my wife’s autumn decorating needs.  With the Grange fair behind us, Labor Day celebrated, and football just around the corner, I thought it would good to share one of the quieter moments with my family.  Do you have a story email me or post a comment.   Stay tuned as I have a new “four legged” addition to the family and I will share all the details next time.
