Sometimes in todays society it would be easy to be so busy that we can miss out in some of the more simpler, relaxing and often most enjoyable events going on around us, In the past few days I was honored to have participated in an Eagle Scout ceremony for two brothers, crossing the finish line together. Their father and I met 20 years ago building a house and remained friends since. Though we only see each other from time to time, when approached several months ago about the pending ceremony, I promised the father I would do my best to be at that ceremony! I made it, and told them that I wanted to be there for the boys, but also in honor of our friendship! Later in the week I was the featured speaker for the Bellefonte High School renovation dedication! What a great, well conducted project as well as ceremony!! The entire town should be proud . Last night I hosted a town meeting for the Bellefonte area. This was one of the most engaging gatherings I have had. Many good issues from health care, property taxes, legislative reform to highway repairs were discussed. I believe I learned more then I taught. Very helpful to have the publics insight. Just goes to show that we need to take time to slow down and appreciate friendships and good healthy dialogue. Why not take time this weekend to call upon an old friend you have not talked to for a while?? You will be glad you did!! Kerry
