A Great day!

Today has been a great day! It started with my 4 year olds daily breakfast order of ” make me a dippy egg daddy, and don’t make it hard! Starts my day off with a laugh! I was invited to attend a ribbon cutting for Christ Community Church- what a great event! I went to support them on their big day, only to be graced with their loving compassion for my family. I was able to observe one of the Grace Prep schools interactive classes who intern gave me a great gift. They asked me if they could pray for me, my wife and daughter. There I stood surrounded by these tremendous young teenagers offering a prayer for healing and strength to a grown man they just met!! Later I learned they had been praying for us and healing for my daughter. Now that’s unconditional love. While humbled, I left there feeling like I could tackle anything…I think our community is blessed with many great young people… if we take time to notice, and not just recognize their weaknesses or mistakes. Earlier this week I told you that our home had an addition. Well, I broke down again and gave into another pet. At times I resist, knowing that the cuteness and excitement of a new animal is short-lived, especially at 3 am potty trips ! Earlier this spring I gave in an acquired a Chocolate Lab for my wife. His name was Cooper. A beautiful dog that was a four legged wrecking crew. There was little he did not chew, nor many fences he did not conquer. Sadly, we made the decision to give him away, when my daughter became ill in May. My older daughter’s good friend had just lost her dog in an accident, so Cooper quickly filled the void. Last I checked Cooper was 8 months old and over 85lbs!!! As for our recent”four legged” addition… we went the other way. This time we decided to surprise our youngest daughter Ryleigh, who is four with her very own Toto? Who is Toto? Ryleigh loves the Wizard of Oz, especially, the witch, Miss Gulch “and her little dog too” as she would say! So one Monday after returning from HMC we presented her with a little basket containing a two pound Yorkie! It was a big hit. Pictures to follow. Never a dull moment in my world! I have been very busy preparing for my upcoming Energy expo (9/25/08),finding a solution to this years heating cost dilemma, answering constituent inquiries and doing some door to door campaigning. Thanks to my wife for her help with that. Have an event or group you would like us to meet with?? Just let me know. Always glad to meet knew faces and learn new things. Hope you have a great weekend.
